Qian Qiming graduated from the Beijing Opera School and is a member of the China Dramatists Association. During school, he studied successively under teachers Shen Yubin, Shen Youliang, and Bai Zonghao. After graduation, he was assigned to the Beijing Peking Opera Theater, where he became a disciple of the renowned Peking Opera artist Mr. He Shunxin.
He successively served as jinghu performer of the Beijing Peking Opera Theater, director of the Beijing Fenglei Peking Opera Troupe, and executive vice principal of the Beijing Peking Opera Theater Training School.
